In partnership with UBC Institute of Asian Research, Centre for India and South Asia Studies, South Asian Studies Institute of the Fraser Valley and, SAADA, we hosted a session exploring the intricate connections between anti-Blackness and caste apartheid within the South Asian diaspora. As progressive South Asians, aimed to dismantle white supremacy and anti-Blackness, we turned a critical lens on our own communities, and confronted our internal hegemonies of caste, language, geography, gender, sexuality, and religion.
